A dedicated Keyworker will work with you and your family at a pace to suit you, allowing time to build a trusting and productive relationship.

Your Keyworker will:

  • Help you to identify strengths to keep you and your children safe
  • Support you and your children to heal from trauma
  •  If appropriate and safe, we can work with the person who has caused harm to identify and challenge negative behaviour to improve safety and your family functioning
  • Arrange to see or speak with you when, where and how it is best, and safest for you.
  • Help you with practical advice and support on issues, such as accommodation, legal matters and accessing benefits or financial support.

FGDM is a process that can bring your family together safely to make a Family Plan for you and your children.  If you wish, your Family Meeting can include other family members, such as grandparents, friends or anyone who can support you and your children.

FGDM concentrates on identifying solutions to issues in a blame-free manner, shifting the focus onto your family's future, rather than recrimination or the past.

A Coordinator will be allocated to work with you and your family.  They will spend time with you to help you prepare for your Family Meeting.
